I've had a life-long interest in metaphysics and the paranormal.  When my husband, Don Pendleton and I wrote the now classic book, To Dance With Angels, my interest in spirit communication increased after doing research into the terrestrial life of James Martin Peebles, who lived from 1822 to 1922.  Dr. Peebles was a leading Spiritualist and lectured around the world on spiritualism.  A minister, doctor, prolific 19th century author, he was appointed by President Ulysses S. Grant to the position of U.S. Counsel at Trebizonde, Turkey, where he served for nearly two years. He was a member of the Congressional American Indian Peace Commission and a delegate to several international peace conferences, and an active and outspoken participant in the anti-slavery, temperance, and women's suffrage movements.  Dr. Peebles, was himself a medium, and since his death in 1922, in Los Angeles, he has communicated from his home on the other side.

I found reading about Dr. Peebles' life, his many book on spiritualism, the works of medium Edgar Cayce in the 20th century, and other books of spirit communication, to be inspirational, informative and overflowing with wisdom.

I have written Introductions to several of my favorite 19th and early 20th century books.  I hope you find them
as in
teresting as I have.~Linda
